The story

A life shaped by light, land, and learning

Diane Crenshaw has always been fascinated with the life-force that connects us all, and art has been the vehicle for discovering and expressing herself. As a child in Ohio, she was enthralled by the rhythm of nature, from the sun glistening on their pond to the drifting clouds changing shapes before dissipating. These early experiences with nature remain the primary heartbeat of her creative practice.

After moving to Tucson, Diane deepened her artistic foundation by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona. Her versatile work, spanning acrylics, watercolors, ink, and sculpture, has been featured in local venues such as the University of Arizona Art Museum, Hotel Congress, Camelback Gallery, and various galleries.

Diane's passion for community-engaged art is backed by extensive teaching experience and a Master's degree in Education. She has shared her expertise with organizations such as Arts for All, The Drawing Studio, Clay Co-op, and KidzArt.

Today, she balances her time as an Exceptional Education Teacher at a Tucson charter school with her dedication to creating art and developing trauma-informed art workshops and classes that foster healing and self-expression.

When she isn't in the studio or the classroom, Diane finds inspiration in the Sonoran Desert and the ever-changing Tucson sky, in those rolling clouds that shift shape before they dissipate. Her grown children and grandchildren bring immeasurable joy to her heart and delight to each moment. She and her husband spend their free time on their porch swing, listening to the birds. These are the things that renew her commitment to restoring light, hope, and connection through art.
